In Japanese folklore, the kounotori or stork is a harbinger of good fortune. Legends tell of these majestic birds diving for fish but returning to the surface with their beaks filled with gold. One new altcoin hoping to make good on these tales is Kounotori ($KTO), a new Ethereum-based token named after the lucky bird. However, $KTO also plans to bring a little equilibrium to the market.

We wanted to create a fairer token, which is why we built in some features to prevent whales and funds from manipulating Kounotori. We’ve put caps on single transactions as well as limits on our wallets to make sure no one individual has too much control over the market.” Gerion, Kounotori Project Leader.

How to get your nest egg

Built on Ethereum’s ERC-20 blockchain you can get your own $KTO by using or creating a wallet from meta mask, Trust Wallet, or Coinbase and swapping Ethereum via Uniswap V2. There’s a detailed walkthrough on the Kounotori website. $KTO’s developers promise a transparent platform and a level playing field. Indeed, the team is already fully doxxed, their lite paper is refreshingly honest, and their road map is well marked.

Welcome to the stork market

Instead of never-ending promises of shooting for the moon, the devs behind $KTO are aiming for steady realistic growth. To this end, they’ve built some nifty features into their contract to protect against market chicanery. The team behind $KTO has published respectable predictions of somewhere between 3 to 9% reflections and they also claim they can market the token without the need to make price drops. According to their website, token buybacks are also on their radar which could also protect the token’s price.

A stork future

According to their road map, their future plans include an NFT collection. Judging by the striking clean Japanese-style artwork on their branding, this could be one to watch. Additionally, the team is planning to launch a ‘Token B’. However, they’re careful to point out that right now there is only one official Kounotori ($KTO) token and there are no baby, lite, mega, mini, or other certified variant tokens.

The year of the stork?
